Wedding, Retirement, Chalk Paint and TpT listing! {finally}

Greeting everyone! Gosh. I've had some big changes in the last six months! My baby got married,

I retired from teaching, and I started lots of fun projects from home! My husband and I look for awesome junk stuff, and then decide how to make it better. Sometimes we actually leave it as is, sometimes we chalk paint it, and sometimes we turn it into something else! Here are a few pictures of some things we have done:

If you would like to see more please come visit me at

I will also be continuing to list some things in my TpT Store, which I will eventually start blogging about on The Robin's Nest Designs, instead of this blog so that I can have everything in one place.

Here is my current listing:

I hope you are having a wonderful summer!

Classroom Ear bud storage, Readers Theater Headband

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday! One week until Thanksgiving, WOW. Time does fly by. A while ago I shared an idea for crayon storage:

Well, as you know, "Necessity is the Mother of Invention." I recently had to re purpose my shoe organizer because I needed a way to neatly store the children's ear buds that they use  for  "Listen to Reading".
This is what I did:
Each child is assigned a "classroom number" that we use for a lot of things. I put their classroom number on the ear buds and on a pocket in the shoe organizer. This keeps them all in a nice tidy place that is safe and easily accessible.

I also have a freebie for you. I have a group of kids doing a little Thanksgiving Readers Theater next week to introduce Common Core RL 1.6. I made these cute badges that we are going to staple on a headband for each child in the play.

Classroom Freebies Too, Book Find, Other fun StUfF!

Good Morning Gang! I hope you are enjoying a lazy Sunday. I have a varied list of things to tell you about today.

I am so excited to be a contributor to Classroom Freebies Too! This is a great and ALWAYS free resource. You can check it out here: Classroom Freebies Too!

I found a new book over the weekend! I know, I hope you own stock in Amazon, ;) Here it is:

I am so excited to dive into this book this week.
P.S. The super large sticky notes they are referring to in the book are also available on Amazon also!!!

I found something new to organize my office stuff. I used to use a cardboard "bankers box" for each month that we are in school. I would store content specific books, files and projects in each one for that particular month. These were at Walmart last night: I am going to try it out today or tomorrow and let you know how it works out . . .

They aren't a big as it appears in the picture.
Measurements are 29 X 18 X 13

I have a brand new design over on my personal blog! I did it myself with photos I took around our house! Yay! You can come check it out here:

I will be putting a Halloween Word Art Freebie on that blog in the next day or two, so be sure to check back! I found some super cute new fonts!

This week in school, our class is continuing to learn about pumpkins. We are going to a pumpkin patch. I am sure you can imagine how excited the class is about that!
Do you go to a pumpkin patch at your school?

Have a good Monday . . .

Classroom Pics Galore

Hey everyone! We are back from our awesome 10 day vacation to San Francisco! Super fun, but isn't home    always the best place to be?! I really should have made a list of the things that I still needed to do upon returning because now . . .I have no idea what I had planned before we left. Have you ever experienced this? Complete mental fog. :) I basically had most of my room ready ahead of time, but it is all of those 100 little things that we all have on those ongoing lists. Do you know what I mean? I think teachers always have one of those mental lists going.

Anyway, while my brain is trying to catch up with the real world, I spent today working on some arranging in my classroom. I am including some pics in the post. Sorry they aren't the best . . .

I also have a picture of my finished binder and plan book

I have listed a new color scheme of my Teacher Notebook Dividers and Calendar in my TpT Store.
Here is a peek . . .
