Valentine Project and Giveaway Reminder!
Hi everyone! First off, I want to remind you about our AWESOME giveaway which ends tomorrow afternoon. You can read about it here.
I also want to thank Jennifer from First Grade Blue Skies for coming up with this darling snowman project:
As I was sitting in my classroom this week admiring them it made me thnk of doing a 3 dimensional heart for Valentine's Day. So here is what I came up with on the spur of the moment:

As I was sitting in my classroom this week admiring them it made me thnk of doing a 3 dimensional heart for Valentine's Day. So here is what I came up with on the spur of the moment:
1. I cut heart templates from legal sized file folders. I made a variety of heart shapes and sizes so that the children could choose.
2. The children decided on a color of paper and traced the heart 2 times. Then, they crumpled up paper towels to put between the 2 layers.
3. After I stapled their 2 layers together, the children decorated their hearts with pieces of scrapbook paper and buttons.
4. Once the decorating was finished I sprayed them with red glitter spray.
5. The final touch was adding a name tag and some raffia . . .

Snow Fun
I know several of you wonderful bloggers out there have done versions of this cute idea! I changed it up a bit to work with my bulletin board. We did "Snowman all Year" on one side and "Snowmen at Night" on the other so that it could be flipped upward to see both sides of the students paper.

1. My favorite beverages are sweet tea and chocolate milk.
2. I was born in North Carolina. I grew up in Alabama, Florida, Nevada and California. As an adult I've lived in Utah.
3. I'm married to my best friend!
4. Some of my favorite TV shows are the Dick Van Dyke Show, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, I Love Lucy, Original Hawaii 5-0.
5. I am most inspired by: my 19 year old college son, who is a good person every day. (and he is always patient with his nieces and nephews)
6. I am most affected by: My mother, who we lost suddenly in May, and we are all still amazed at the profound influence she had, and continues to have on our lives.
7. I have 3 grown step kids (not that we think of it that way) with 9 grandchildren and our Christmas shopping list is long, but I love being "Nana".
