Pencil Problems

I just saw this on Pinterest:

I have fell in L.O.V.E! I have a couple of drawers like this already in my classroom and KNEW it was the answer to my can of pencils. Picture Perfect Kinders came up with the idea (plus a few more, go check out her site). THANK YOU!

I have a couple of soup cans covered in colored paper that I have been too lazy to make any cuter because I haven't really loved them. I have moved them all over the classroom, but I have NEVER thought of not putting them in a can. I hate the mess, the way they bounce out of the can when I toss them in after sharpening them, the broken pencil bits. My extra erasers have lived in a basket no where near where the pencils are. DUH, shouldn't they be near each other?

Want One?

In my excitement I quickly created a few labels while waiting for my teenager to come home on a Friday night (I probably need another project). Then I realized I don't exactly know the depth of my drawers. No prob. I shrunk, and stretched my labels in the hopes that something will work when I get to school on Monday. Yup, I am putting this Pinterest find to work on Monday. With any luck I won't have to tweak anything. Grab a copy for yourself. If I find that there is no way these labels will work, I will tweak them and upload them again.

Man, I am on a pencil kick. I swear my kids are eating them. They will all have enough pencils to get their math done BEFORE lunch, but right after lunch half of the class is missing their's. (They are only allowed one at a time right now, because they started hording pencils while I was out. Bummer for me, it truly is a pain.) I really intended to post on something else this weekend. Hopefully that will still happen. ;)

  5. I didn't quite get it ready yesterday. I forgot I was going to be out for half of the day at a doctor's appointment. Why does one appointment take half of the day? I hope to post a picture of my final project today.
